Francis Moon

VP of Sales & Business Development 

During his more than 40-year career, Francis Moon has held high-level sales and engineering positions at automotive and transportation U.S.-based Tier 1 suppliers and a Korean OEM and Tier1 supplier.

 

He has managed and optimized program launches and successfully led cross-functional teams to meet start of production (SOP) targets and gates. He has developed long-term business development strategies and has an in-depth knowledge of business expansion in global markets.

 

Francis also brought together consulting firms and specialists to create best-in-class programs for businesses, making him an excellent collaborator.

He is fluent in Korean, English and Japanese.

Most recently, Francis led business development activities for PSM International in Michigan, where he championed new business development for engineered fasteners for plastics and sheet metals. He won that business from Tier 1s and ensured the program was launched on schedule, all the time maintaining a close relationship with plants and customers throughout Asia, Europe and North America.

His ability to negotiate pricing with customers exceeded the corporate profit margin target, recovering increased material and logistic costs.

Francis served as customer service engineer and later senior product engineer, powertrain and director of sales, global Asian OEMs at American Axle & Manufacturing in Detroit.

As director of sales, global Asian OEMs, Francis managed the sales and program launch activities for Korean OEM programs in Korea and North America. He achieved approximately $900 million in sales to Korean OEMs over a 10-year period and secured engine component programs from Japanese OEMs as well. One of the Korean OEMs became the company’s second largest customer within a five-year period, achieving a 250% increase in new sales in that time period.
